Hear master of the Indian mandolin U Rajesh live in concert, bringing his playful, experimental style to the instrument.

As the brother of U Srinivas, who is credited with introducing the mandolin to the Carnatic toolkit, U Rajesh comes from a great musical lineage.

U Rajesh is accompanied by Kousic Sen on tabla and RN Prakash on mridangam.

Working across genres, U Rajesh collaborated with John McLaughlin on the Grammy-nominated jazz album Floating Point.

He has worked with artists including Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Sultan Khan and Mike Marshall, performed live with Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and contributed to an album by London Chamber Orchestra.

This concert is an on-tour production from Indika, Europe’s largest annual festival of classical Indian arts, and is part of Milapfest’s Music for the Mind & Soul series.
